J and B's Story:
Jeff and Betty were best friends for years and finally realized that they truly belonged together. Their friends all knew this fact of course long before they did. Once they become 'more than friends' it didn't take long for them to decide to get married.
They got engaged on Valentines Day and wanted to have their ceremony ASAP. They spoke with their families and found that from a practical standpoint anytime before that coming August was not feasible. They were frustrated but decided that they did in fact want all family to attend their happy occasion so August it was.
They now had time to find the perfect place to have the ceremony and reception and make sure all the invitations where received by there friends and relatives. They found a beautiful house to move into and realized that it's backyard was large enough to accomodate the wedding! (more money for the honeymoon!). So they got the trees pruned and the lawn in order along with all the other standard wedding details and the August date was set.
Normally in the city they were in the august tempurature is in the upper 80's, not bad considering there where plenty of shade trees and umbrellas available and of course lots of chilled champagne. As the date drew closer everyone was busy handling all the last minute details and the weather did seem a bit on the warm side but all were sure that it would be perfect on the special day.. oh yes.. the ceremony was going to take place at noon.
The morning finally arrived and a quick check of the news revealed that the tempurature was supposed to be one of the hottest on record for that city! Less than half of theRSVP'd guests attended and as the bride and groom took there vows under that blazing sun, the wedding party cowarded in the shade under the nearby trees. Luckliy the groom's tux was white as was the wedding dress but his shoes where black and as the ceremony progressed he began to shift his weight uncomfortably. Later he found that the top of his right foot had been blistered by the heat. As soon as the ceremony ended all quickly made their way into the house to escape the unbearable heat. The tempurature that day reached 113 degrees!
That was one HOT wedding!
